Millennials want more than just financial performance

September 29, 2017

According to a recent study, 87% of millennials think that companies have to serve a higher purpose, something good beyond pure financial results. Here is a list of questions you may ask yourself in order to better cope with this new(?) demand from millennials:

  1. Are our companies of the industrial revolution 4.0 promising this "good" thing to the stakeholders?

  2. Have we formulated Purpose 4.0 for the next decade in line with Industry 4.0?

  3. Do we know, how will people benefit from the latest technological advancement, will it serve human dignity more?

  4. Do we know what sort of behaviors do we need to change/ influence  in order to deliver "good" to people?

  5. Do we have a systematic model to influence these vital behaviors, which automatically lead to the "good" results we want?

  6. Do we know what is the deepest motivation of our people, why would they want to change ?

  7. How do we motivate, what example do we set?

  8. Do we have a modest incentive system  in place which motivates the right behavior and results, beyond financial performance?

Thinking and talking  about the answers to these questions will lead to inspiring conversations within the organisation.
